Microsoft and Samsung Make a Combined Effort to Win More Users

FREMONT, CA: Microsoft and Samsung have buttressed their partnership for bolstering their business prospects. The companies have expanded their global partnership to bring Microsoft’s mobile services to increasingly mobility driven users across the globe.

The idea employed by the companies is to make the most of each other’s strength to garner more customers in a combined effort. Samsung devices will now be loaded with Microsoft software including: the pre-installation of OneNote, OneDrive, and Skype on the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The South Korean Electronics company is also mulling pre-installation of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and Skype on select Samsung Android tablets.

More Storage
The latest Galaxy S6 series devices will also be accorded with a free OneDrive cloud storage for a period of 2 years. With this plan, the computer software and gadget company, Microsoft, intends to execute its new found strategy that focuses on implementation of its software on various platforms as it pursues the idea of omnipresence (on all devices.)

Businesses who procure devices through Samsung’s business-to-business sales channels would be enabled with access to three versions of Office 365 which are: Business, Business Premium and Enterprise. These office solutions will be integrated with security solution of Samsung, KNOX, to ensure security by maintaining a clear demarcation between personal and business profile on the devices. Samsung will also provide ongoing support for the businesses using the products.

No Bitter Feelings
Both Microsoft and Samsung have recently ended their dispute over Android royalty payments, reports Tom Warren for the The Verge.  The focus of both these companies now is to empower the mobile users to unlock new mobile experiences.
