Mimecast: Single Cloud Platform for Email and Information Management

Enterprises today deploy Microsoft Exchange Server to manage their emails and integrate with on-premises third-party software that enables capabilities such as anti-virus/anti-spam, data-encryption, data leak prevention and data archiving. One of the company’s many solutions for email management, Broad Spectrum Email Security for Office 365, is a multifaceted Secure Email Gateway that overlays Office 365 and Exchange Online Protection with a blended cloud security solution. This includes Mimecast’s anti-spear phishing Targeted Threat Protection, and protection from other emerging security threats. In addition, there is High Availability Email Gateway for Office 365, a complete continuity platform for Office 365, delivered from the Mimecast Cloud. The service delivers email to end users during planned or unplanned outages of any part of the email infrastructure. “All our solutions are entirely cloud based with no on-premises equipments needed contrary to other ‘cloud’ vendors who run on-premises solutions in a hosted environment,” says Martin. “By combining the Mimecast with Microsoft clouds, enterprises can benefit from high availability, scalability and security,” he adds.

Going forward, the company will continue to develop and enhance its core features and services to improve the experience for their new and existing customers. Mimecast was developed for the cloud as a single unified service. The technology used to clean, secure, archive and retrieve corporate data is the company’s own IP, designed for end-user management. Mimecast also makes it fast and easy for IT administrators to manage email services. Unlike many ‘cloud’ vendors, Mimecast is a 100 percent cloud-based service with no on-premises equipment needed. This proves that not all clouds are equal.
